Tools of the Trade

It’s a cool tool that’s actually meant to serve the auto industry, but it can help us retrieve some pretty important stuff in the IVF/embryology lab!

In the video below, Southeastern Fertility Co-Director Dr. John Gordon & Lab Supervisor Sarah Atkinson are introducing you to The Claw.

Plus, another of Dr. G’s treasured dog stories!

Why We Can’t Always Be Doing Transfers

Wouldn’t it be nice if it was always “go time” and we could be doing frozen embryo transfers all month long?

Well, in the video below, Southeastern Fertility Co-Director Dr. John Gordon & IVF Coordinator Lynda McCollum are explaining why we can’t. It’s actually to your benefit that we don’t!

Plus, since the video was recorded on April 1, Dr. G and Lynda throw in a little April Fools fun!

Counting the Cost of Fertility Treatment

When you’re going through fertility treatment, counting the financial cost is crucial.

In the video below, Southeastern Fertility’s Mark Mellinger & Lynda McCollum are joined by Christa Carter (from our nonprofit partners at the National Embryo Donation Center) to discuss some common fees that may be involved in your process, but could escape your attention on the front end.

We don’t want you to be getting any unpleasant surprises!

Mind-Boggling Cold, Awe-Inspiring Work

Southeastern Fertility Co-Director Dr. John Gordon and IVF Coordinator Lynda McCollum are in a small room with about 4000 precious souls in this video, taking a step back in awe of what (actually, who) is all around them!

Enjoy this poignant look at just how amazing and life-changing the technology advances of embryo preservation and frozen embryo transfer are, direct from the lab at Southeastern Fertility!

Where The Embryos Are

Southeastern Fertility Co-Director Dr. John Gordon and IVF Coordinator Lynda McCollum, as you’ll see in the video below, are cozying up next to the fire to talk about why people from all over the country (and even some foreign countries!) are willing to come all the way to Knoxville to build their families.

It boils down to this: When it comes to embryo adoption, thanks to our exclusive partnership with the National Embryo Donation Center, we have an incomparable number of embryos onsite right here in our lab. And almost all are remaining from successful IVF! In a nutshell, this is where the embryos are!

But there are other reasons people from hundreds or thousands of miles away turn to Southeastern Fertility. Some may want lower-cost IVF without all the usual fertility medications, in which case we offer affordable alternatives like Natural Cycle IVF and Mini-Stim IVF.

Others trust Dr. Jeffrey Keenan for tubal reversal surgery, knowing he is among the most respected reproductive surgeons in the nation.

Still others may just be seeking advice on battling infertility from a listening ear, in which case Dr. Gordon offers free 15-minute telemedicine consultations. Why We Don’t Genetically Test Embryos

Over the past few years, the genetic testing of embryos prior to transfer has become a more common practice in reproductive medicine. But we don’t do it at Southeastern Fertility. Why, you ask?

The simple answer is that the leadership team considers it a slippery slope. Southeastern Fertility Co-Director Dr. John Gordon, alongside IVF Coordinator Lynda McCollum, explains why in the video below.
